5. Hosting and service providers

Congress Consensus uses Ghost(Pro), operated by Ghost Foundation Ltd, to host the website, manage memberships and deliver newsletters.

For data processed on behalf of Congress Consensus, Ghost acts as a data processor. Ghost's Data Processing Agreement provides safeguards required under applicable data-protection laws, including safeguards for international transfers.

If paid memberships are introduced, payment processing will also involve Stripe or another payment provider. This Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly before paid subscriptions are launched.

6. Analytics

Congress Consensus may use Ghost's native analytics to understand how visitors interact with the publication.

Ghost states that its native web analytics are first-party and cookie-free and do not use persistent browser storage to identify visitors across sessions or devices. For logged-in members, Ghost may associate content views with the member account.

7. Cookies

Ghost does not place non-essential cookies by default. As long as Congress Consensus does not add advertising, third-party analytics or other services using non-essential cookies, a cookie-consent banner is generally not required solely because the site runs on Ghost.

If Congress Consensus later introduces services requiring non-essential cookies or other tracking technologies, appropriate information and consent controls will be implemented before those technologies are activated.

Under French rules, non-essential traceurs generally require prior consent, while strictly necessary traceurs and certain tightly constrained audience-measurement tools may be exempt.

8. Data retention

Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with applicable legal obligations.

Newsletter and marketing data will be deleted or anonymized following withdrawal of consent or after applicable retention periods.

French data-protection guidance generally recommends a maximum period of three years from the last meaningful contact for prospecting data relating to non-customers.
